How Megabad Is Turning 90+ Years of Expert Advice Into an Agentic Storefront

with Christian Drumann, Webshop Manager at Megabad, Marco Hjorth Dziendziol, Head of Performance & Brand at Megabad, and Dana Nedamaldeen, Co-Founder & CEO at Neocom

If you don't have the time to watch the full recording, here's the summary of our webinar on how Megabad is moving from classic Search & Discovery toward an Agentic Storefront.:

From Search & Discovery to Agentic Commerce

For years, E-Commerce has relied on the same model: search, navigation, filters and product listings.

The problem? Most of the work still sits with the customer.

AI is changing that. Customers increasingly expect to describe what they want to achieve and receive relevant guidance - shifting the experience from navigation to intention and conversation.

For retailers, this also becomes a strategic question: who controls how customers understand and choose their products?

Megabad's Challenge

Megabad has more than 90 years of consultation expertise and manages 300,000+ SKUs across a complex customer journey.

The challenge was clear:

How do you bring that expertise into the digital storefront and help customers find the right product without leaving them alone with thousands of options?

Megabad and Neocom started with four highly consultative categories: bathtubs, shower trays, toilets and mirror cabinets.

Across them, more than 32,000 products are available for individual consultation, and 18,000+ customers have already used the advisors.

The Business Impact

The numbers show strong customer adoption:

  • ~75% Engagement Rate
  • 48% Direct CTR
  • 5.4% Conversion Rate
  • +37.4% Average Order Value
  • +€593 average order value per purchase through the advisor

The shower tray advisor reaches around 90% engagement, while the mirror cabinet advisor exceeds 51% CTR.

For Megabad, this is particularly relevant in a market where traffic keeps getting more expensive: the goal is not only to acquire more visitors, but to create more value from the traffic already reaching the shop.

The Next Step: From Click Paths to Conversation

The next step is moving beyond fixed question flows.

Megabad is preparing a natural-language AI Shop Agent that can understand what customers need, ask follow-up questions, use product data and expert content, and recommend suitable products.

The roadmap goes further: more categories, product validation directly on PDPs, cross- and upselling, CRM re-engagement, and eventually a continuous advisory experience across the storefront.

If that scales, the advisor stops being just a widget and becomes the backbone of Megabad's digital customer consultation.

The Takeaway

Megabad's journey shows that Agentic Commerce doesn't have to start with a fully autonomous AI agent.

It can start with a much simpler approach:

Digitize existing expertise. Guide customers where they need help most. Measure the impact. Then scale toward conversation.
